Nike Cross Nationals returns to Portland this weekend, but was Crater High snubbed?

Nike Cross Nationals returns to Portland Meadows on Saturday to unofficially crown the best high school cross country team in the land.
The field was created by a series of regional meets and a committee selected four teams to at-large berths to bring the number to 44 (22 boys, 22 girls).
Jesuit's girls are back in the race. The Crusaders have recently moved up to No. 5 nationally. But one Oregon school is feeling left out today and wondering why it bothered to go to the extra effort of working and hoping and waiting.
Crater's boys won the OSAA's Class 5A title and proved themselves the best team in Oregon at the Concordia/Puma Invitational and at the Nike Cross Nationals Northwest Regional, where they placed third to Spokane schools North Central and Ferris.
Now, keep in mind, North Central won the Nike Cross Nationals last year and is currently ranked No. 3 in the Dyestat Elite/ESPN Rise Fab 50, which was released Nov. 26. Ferris is ranked No. 4.
