Lambkins run well at cross country nationals

PORTLAND, Ore. - The state champion cross country teams at Fort Collins High School showed Saturday they can compete at the national level as well.

Collins' boys team placed fourth and its girls team sixth at the Nike Cross Nationals at Portland Meadows Race Track.

The boys team finished with 171 points, just six points out of third place. Arcadia (Calif.) won with 92 points.

On the girls side, the Lambkins scored 247 points and missed fifth by three points. Manlius (N.Y.) took home its fifth consecutive title with 27 points.
