Cross-country: Christian Costello, Ben Malone qualify for nationals

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. — Christian Costello will be flying to Portland, Ore. early Thursday morning with some mixed emotions.
The Don Bosco senior from Ridgewood finished eighth Saturday in the Nike Northeast Regional at Bowdoin Park to qualify for the National Championship race Dec. 3 at Portland Meadows Race Track, but he’ll be making the trip without his teammates, who finished fifth and missed qualifying by 28 points.
