SPECIAL TO THE TIMES
When the winner of the Mercer County boys' cross country championship and all three NJSIAA races is the same person, it makes choosing The Times' Colonial Valley Conference boys Runner of the Year an easy task.
Even though West Windsor-Plainsboro North senior Jim Rosa lost his twin brother as a training partner for the season due to injury, Rosa won all the titles his brother, Joe Rosa, claimed over the past two years.
The county title stayed in WW-P North hands for the third straight year after Joe Rosa's title in 2008 and Jon Squeri's win last year. The NJSIAA Group III Central title, which Joe Rosa won the last three years, stayed in the family when Jim Rosa won it a week after the county race.
Jim Rosa went on to win the Group III state title at Holmdel Park and the Meet of Champions individual crown a week after that, but Rosa wasn't finished there.
