I kind of agree with Scott, though I certainly see Tom Keyes point as well:

Either the Northwest or New York look, at this point, like the strongest boys regions. Midwest is going to be pretty tough as well - I could definitely see both teams finishing in the top 10. The Southeast is going to be strong as well, though I don't know if their history suggests that two teams in the top 10 is exactly a strong possibility (but hey, Blacksburg did break through last year, so it can be done). Best chances of having two teams towards the top, though, are the NW and NY in some order.

Southwest girls being the top region is a strong possibility IMO. Those teams are just TOUGH.

As for who is going to win... I feel like that is worthy of a separate thread/poll. :)

If I were laying odds right now the F-M boys would be favored. They are peaking at the right time for NXN. They just smashed the Bowdin Park course record and their program is very used to running at a National level. The F-M team has one senior on it. Which is frickin scary to consider going forward. And Northport was right behind them.

Also, the CBA boys won NXN without one of their top three runners and two of their guys taking falls in the race. CBA has experience and they've shown they can run really, really fast evidenced by the number of venerable course records they've taken down hard this year.

So if the NW has better teams than that hats off to 'em.

Girls side, F-M looks like they to are peaking at the right time. I will bet against them, like, never.

If I was making odds for the boys race at NXN I'd still make CBA the favorite. Yes, FM had a faster average on the same course Saturday but CBA rested 1 runner and had at least 1 other fall during the race.

Watch out for Arcadia! They had a very strong showing at CA state.
American Fork, CBA, Gig and maybe F-M are in the mix

I hear you on the NY boys. FM is going to be very tough and Northport showed they are legit. I could see NY beating the NW, but I am sticking with experience and strengths of the NW squads.

Any guesses on which region will represent best at NXN? My pick are the Northwest boys and Southwest girls.

The other day I was surfing around on the runnerspace.com site and found a great PDF file that showed the colors for the various regions together with the course map. Could some repost the link to that if they know how to find it? We have a lot of relatives that are going to watch online and it would help if they could pick out the uniforms.
